About

Ryan Heer, ND

An Indianapolis native, Dr. Ryan recognized the need for different solutions in healthcare from a young age. With both of his parents working in the traditional healthcare industry, he was exposed to the shortcomings and pitfalls often experienced by patients with chronic healthcare needs. He knew there had to be a better way.

After working in hospitals for several years in Indianapolis and Chicago, Dr. Ryan turned to naturopathic medicine, a unique healthcare profession that combines the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science.

Dr. Ryan received his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine after four years of medical training at the nationally accredited National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Upon graduation, he completed a highly competitive and demanding post-graduate clinical residency focused on integrative primary care and preventive cardiology.

After completing his training, Dr. Ryan stayed in Oregon practicing naturopathic medicine before returning back to Indianapolis in 2021 to open Crossroads Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Ryan’s naturopathic primary care training led the way for his growing passion for specialty care and the complexities of patient’s health. He is an expert in gastrointestinal health, preventative cardiology, autoimmune disease, and endocrine/metabolic disorders. He is a leader in specialty care for naturopathic doctors and the founding member of CardioANP, a naturopathic cardiology subspecialty.

His time outside of the patient care is spent outside- gardening, playing soccer, and training for his next triathlon. He and his wife (Sarah) enjoy hiking with their dog (Remi) and exploring all the new culinary delights that Indy has to offer!

Crossroads Integrative Medicine
About

Crossroads Integrative Medicine

Crossroads Integrative Medicine is a naturopathic medicine clinic. We emphasize patient education, prevention, and identifying and treating the root cause of illness. Utilizing a wide range of therapies from food to nutraceuticals to treat just about every condition imaginable. At Crossroads Integrative Medicine we are experts at improving wellness and helping patients prevent future illness.

We focus on the patient’s body as a whole when diagnosing, preventing, and treating acute and chronic illness. Our goal is to restore and establish optimal health by supporting the person’s inherent self-healing process, rather than just suppressing symptoms. We work to identify underlying causes of illness by developing personalized treatment plans following the Therapeutic Order™. The Therapeutic Order™ identifies the natural order in which all therapies should be applied to provide the greatest benefit with the least potential for damage.

The Six Principles Of Crossroads Integrative Medicine

Do No Harm.

At Crossroads Integrative Medicine, we use the least force necessary to diagnose and treat while utilizing methods which minimize the risk of harmful side effects. We acknowledge, respect, and work with individuals’ self-healing process.

Treat The Whole Person.

We treat each patient by taking into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors.

Prevention.

At Crossroads Integrative Medicine, we emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with patients to prevent illness.

The Healing Power Of Nature.

As we recognize there is an inherent self-healing process in people that is ordered and intelligent. Our role as your doctor is to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment this inherent self-healing process.

Doctor as a Teacher.

At Crossroads Integrative Medicine we educate our patients and recognize and employ the therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient relationship.

Treat The Root Cause.

We seek to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.
